 Serving on the Malta Township Public Library Board is an opportunity to help guide library policies, oversee finances, support library services and programming, and help plan for the library’s future.

Trustee Seats Up for Election on April 6, 2027

Six trustee seats will be up for election:

  • Three seats for four-year terms (2027–2031)
  • Three seats for two-year unexpired terms (2027–2029)

This is an opportunity to become involved in your community and help shape the future of your public library.

Candidate Requirements

Eligibility: Candidates must be residents of Malta Township.

Petition Signatures: Candidates must collect at least 25 valid signatures from legal voters residing in Malta Township.

Required Paperwork:

  • Statement of Candidacy
  • Nominating petition sheets
  • Receipt showing that the Statement of Economic Interests has been filed with the appropriate county clerk
  • Optional Loyalty Oath

Filing Period: November 16–23, 2026

Where and When to File

The Library Director will be available at the Malta Township Public Library to receive candidate filing paperwork and issue receipts during the following scheduled times:

  • Tuesday, November 17: 3:30–7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, November 20: 3:30–7:00 p.m.
  • Monday, November 23: 3:00–5:00 p.m.

Although the library is normally closed on Mondays, the Director will be at the library on Monday, November 23, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. to accept candidate paperwork.

If you need to submit your paperwork outside these scheduled hours, please call ahead to confirm the Director’s availability. Filing must take place during the official filing period, beginning November 16, and all paperwork must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2026.
