Upcoming Events
Black History Month

In celebration of National Black History Month, the library will be hosting "Black Women in History" on Friday, February 17 at 6:30 pm. This event will be presented by NIU students working in conjunction with the Center for African American Studies. Felicia Ogundipe will have a display of African folk art, with items available for purchase.
The presentation will offer a great opportunity for everyone to become better informed about a subject we may know little about.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Come celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday at the library on Friday, March 2, at 6:30 pm. During the first half hour, there will be birthday cake, a Dr. Seuss story and a craft suitable for preschoolers and up. For those who can stay longer, there will be a 26 min. animated showing of "The Cat in the Hat."
The first 50 children ages 2 - 10 will receive a Dr. Seuss tote bag.
Because March 2 is also Read Across America Day, the library will be giving free books to those pre-K, 1st graders, and 2nd graders. Books were made available through a grant from the Literacy Empowerment Foundation.
